What Is a Wisdom Tooth?
Wisdom teeth, also known as third molars, are the final set of teeth to erupt in the back corners of the mouth. Most people have four wisdom teeth, although some may have fewer or none at all. Wisdom teeth typically emerge between the ages of 17 and 25, which is why they are often associated with young adulthood. However, due to limited space in the mouth, wisdom teeth often encounter issues such as impaction, partial eruption, or misalignment.
