A removable partial denture is a dental appliance that is used to replace one or more missing teeth in either the upper or lower arch. Unlike a complete denture, a partial denture is designed to be removable and is usually anchored in place by clasps or other attachments that attach to the remaining natural teeth. Partial dentures are custom-made to fit the patient's mouth and are typically made from a combination of metal and acrylic or a flexible resin material. They are made to look and work just like real teeth, giving the wearer the confidence to speak, eat, and smile. To avoid dental health issues including gum irritation, infection, and bad breath, partial dentures need to be cleaned and maintained on a regular basis.
